IO Interactive is closing its Istanbul studio and laying off staff after Xbox ended funding for Project Fantasy, its online fantasy RPG in development. The studio, which opened in 2023, played a significant role in IO's productions including Hitman and 007: First Light. IO has regained full ownership of Project Fantasy and will develop it independently.
