The Rogue Trooper animated film uses Unreal Engine 5 for production but deliberately pursued a watercolor-inspired, comic-book aesthetic to avoid looking like a video game. Director Duncan Jones and producer Stuart Fenegan drew visual inspiration from 2000 AD source material.
