Sony Interactive Entertainment president and CEO hasn't given up on live-service games just yet

PlayStation president Hideaki Nishino told Famitsu that live-service games remain central to the company's strategy, noting the genre is "relatively new" and Sony wants to continue taking on challenges. He highlighted Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls as an upcoming first-party live-service title planned for release this year.
