Unity unveils Unity 7 roadmap with update path that won't break your build

Unity announced Unity 7, built on the same architecture as Unity 6, promising zero-rebuild upgrades from Unity 6 to Unity 7. The engine enters early beta in December 2026 with final release in early 2027. New features include a CLI and public API letting developers validate assets and collaborate outside the editor.
