Epic Games revealed the Unreal MCP plugin for Unreal Engine 5.8, allowing generative AI LLMs to plug into the engine and execute tasks via text prompts. During the State of Unreal presentation, Epic demonstrated AI-assisted room design, cityscape creation, and lighting setup, with developers maintaining manual control and correction capabilities. Epic claimed the workflow reduced work that would normally take months to days.
