Xbox CEO Asha Sharma stated she cannot definitively say whether Microsoft's $68.7 billion Activision Blizzard acquisition is paying off, despite praising the company's assets. Microsoft has conducted four major layoff rounds since completing the 2023 merger, cutting 1,900 roles in 2024, closing studios including Arkane Austin and Tango Gameworks, and laying off 650 more workers in September 2024.
